Denver Broncos Looking to Get 49ers' Colin Kaepernick

Broncos are searching for a new quarterback.

As the Super Bowl champions, expectations are high for the Denver Broncos even in the off-season.

This is especially true as they are looking replacements as Peyton Manning has already retired from the game.

After winning the biggest trophy in the National Football League, Manning has hung up his cleats and now the Broncos organization have been looking for talent in other teams.

Recently, they have already signed Mark Sanchez who last played with the Philadelphia Eagles.

But with Brock Osweiler also out of the team after being moved to the Houston Texans after free agency, the Broncos have put their sights on San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick is considered one of the better quarterbacks in the league and despite inconsistent performances last season, many think that he can still bounce back given that he is still relatively young.

Only 28 years old, Kaepernick has long been linked with the Broncos and recent news revealed that the Broncos are relatively close to getting their man.

However, a big hurdle is that Kaepernick is guaranteed to get $11.9 million this year thanks to his contract.

And with that in mind, the Broncos are said to be open to paying as much as $7 million of that contract, but they want the Niners to pay up the remaining $4.9 million to make the deal fall through.

Understandably, the Niners are hesitant to pay the amount given the organization's desire to keep their quarterback in the team.

Making things worse is that Kaepernick is reported not to be open to forfeit the remaining amount to make the move to the Broncos, leaving all parties at an impasse at the moment.

It remains to be seen whether Denver will budge and agree to add to their allowable amount to acquire Kaepernick, and the Niners will try to use every leverage they have to keep their starting QB where he is.
