'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 1 Cast News: A New Character

Another character is expected to join the DC Television world in the series "Legends of Tomorrow."

It was revealed that Jonah Hex will soon be seen in the small screen. The executive producer of the series, Marc Guggenheim, recently shared some news about the character's debut.

While his debut is not expected until later into the first season of "Legends of Tomorrow," Guggenheim expressed that fans will get to travel back in time into the Old West when they meet Jonah Hex. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, he stated, "Ever since we decided that 'Legends' would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you're going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We're thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television."

Fans of the DC comics are well aware that Hex is a bounty hunter who is also a Civil War veteran. He is known for his philosophy to protect the innocent. The character is well known for his unique face, which was described as "The Mark of the Demon."

While there has yet to be any news on who will portray the role, the newest addition to the cast will be Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Franz Drameh as Jax Jackson/one-half of Firestorm, Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Ciara Renee as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, and Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave.

Aside from the new character, details about the plot of the series were also revealed. The Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics, Geoff Johns, recently spoke during the Television Critics Association press tour about the series. He stated, "The metaphor is destiny. When you're told, 'You guys are going to make an impact on life' and then you're told you actually don't make an impact on life, I think that's a really sobering, challenging thing to hear.."

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 premieres this Jan. 21 on The CW.
