Liz and Redd on the run – Season 3 of 'The Blacklist' to have a new format

Season 3 of "The Blacklist" will have Liz on the run with a new look. Since Redd is also a fugitive now, the procedural aspect of the show is out and the new season will be shown in a new format.

In the finale of Season 2, Liz flees after she shoots the corrupt Attorney General Tom Connolly. Her trusted colleague puts her on the FBI's Most Wanted List for murder. Both Redd and Liz are fugitives in Season 3 and this will add a new dimension to their relationship.

Series creator Jon Bokenkamp told TVLine, that the premiere episode titled "Troll Hunter" "feels like a pilot in and of itself. There's a really strange and powerful dynamic that [Red and Liz] have. Their resources are so incredible, and they complement each other in a really nice way."

"The Blacklist" series features Raymond Reddington who helps Elizabeth Keen and the FBI to capture some of the world's most dangerous criminals. Redd has a list of criminals that he wishes would get caught and this list is his 'Blacklist.' The past two seasons have had riveting cases that these two have solved. But in Season 3, it is they who are hunted. They have become fugitives from the law.

To turn the heat on Liz and Redd, a new villain will enter the show. Entertainment Weekly reports Edi Gathegi of 'X-Men: First Class' will join the show as Mr. Solomon. He is described as "a monster in gentleman's clothing." On the outside, he is a soft-spoken man but he actually does all the dirty work of the Cabal. In a TVGuide.com interview, executive producer John Eisendrath says Mr. Soloman " is not friendly in any way to Liz or Red or the people they care about."

Fans are curious as to what the relationship is between Liz and Redd. Megan Boone, the actress who plays Liz, told Zap2it , "I think people see how much Redd loves her, and it is a confusing kind of love. I think that will have to be answered. How do you love someone that deeply -- no matter what the circumstances, but especially when the circumstances are mysterious?" She further says that although she thinks Liz loves Redd, it doesn't necessarily have to be the romantic type of love, even though some fans want it to be that way.

"The Blacklist" is set to air on Sept. 24, Thursday, 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
