Philadelphia Eagles News 2015: Sam Bradford Expects to Play on Sunday
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford missed the last couple of games because of a concussion and separated shoulder he suffered during the team's 20-19 defeat to the Miami Dolphins. The good news for Eagles fans is that after being cleared by the league's strict concussion protocol, he is expected to be back into action this Sunday against the New England Patriots.
Talking to reporters, the 28-year-old quarterback said that he's feeling a lot better compared to a week ago. "I'm much more comfortable out there with what I've been able to do on the field. It's starting to feel good," he said.
Most teams speculate about their players' return after being subjected to concussion protocol, but Bradford's case is different because he actually has been practicing with the team this week, guaranteeing his return by Sunday.
Losing Bradford is one thing the Eagles haven't been fond of. The team has been outscored by opponents in those two games he didn't play, with substitute Mark Sanchez starting in his place. It should be a very difficult road ahead if they are to miss him once again this Sunday since they will be facing one of the best in the league. The Pats finally conceded a game this season but it does not mean they're no longer formidable. In fact, the Eagles, with or without Bradford, will have their hands full in this game.
Bradford recognizes the pain of not being able to help his team go up to the standings late in the season. "Anytime you lose, it's tough. When you're hurt and you're not able to be out there fighting with your guys, it's been tough," he said.
Philadelphia's main problem, though, is that Bradford has been known to be a slow starter, especially when he's inactive for the past games. At this point, the team will have to consider each game as a must-win for them to grab a spot in the postseason. To do that, the returning quarterback will have to be in his A-game soon.
