'Plants vs. Zombies 2': Valenbrainz Event: Collect Heart-Themed Plant and Zombies

Popcap has recently announced a new event for its popular shooter game "Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden Warfare." The upcoming event will bring a new plant, new zombies, costumes, levels, and rewards appropriate for the season.

"Plants vs. Zombies 2" will have its own Valentine's Day event called Valenbrainz. The event, which started on Tuesday, Feb. 2, will last for 13 days.

During the "mega event," players will have a chance to use the premium plant Blooming Heart. It's a plant that catapults heart-shaped projectiles to approaching zombies. The projectiles cause increasing damage with each hit.

In addition to the Blooming Heart, there will also be six Valentine-themed zombies, along with collectible Valenbrainz-themed costumes. Based on the event's trailer (below), there will be zombies with boxes of chocolates and zombies with heart-shaped balloons.

The "Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden Warfare" Valenbrainz event also brings with it 11 brand-new levels, Valentine-themed of course. Players will also get to receive higher coin rewards.

Along with the Valenbrainz event, Popcap has also announced a new content update for the game. Coming a couple of days after Valentine's Day, on Feb. 16 , Modern Day Part 2 will release. It features time travel, new plants, returning zombies, and more.

Modern Day Part 2 will have players travel back in time to the beginning with 16 new themed levels. Fan-favorites All-Star Zombie and Super-Fan Imp will also be returning, along with collectible costumes.

"Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden Warfare" Modern Day Part 2 will also feature three new plants. The first one is premium plant Escape Root, an armed trap plant with the ability to switch places with other plants. Then there's Grimrose, a plant that "slinks into the shadows" and then appears under its target. Lastly, there's Dusk-lobber, a plant that's capable of shooting projectiles into multiple lanes.
