'Pokken Tournament' News: Four Legendary Support Pokemons Revealed

A recent livestream showcasing Bandai Namco's "Pokken Tournament" revealed that four Legendary Pokemons will be included in the upcoming Pokemon fighting game. These Legendary Pokemons will act as support for the main roster of playable characters.

A video (below) of the livestream from Nintendo Life provides fans with an overview of what "Pokken Tournament" has in store for them when it launches next month. Among the details that Pokemon fans will most likely notice is the presence of four of the most powerful creatures in the series. These are the Legendary Pokemons Yveltal, Latios, Reshiram, and Cresselia, which are included as Support Pokemons. Although they have not been officially introduced, it appears they will be part of the game.

Support Pokemons are not playable in the game, but players can summon them for help during a match by pressing "L." They bring different types of aid categorized as Attack, Disrupt, and Enhance.

Support Pokemons come in pairs, and Yveltal and Latios are paired, while Reshiram and Cresselia form another team. In addition to these two pairs, the video shows there are 13 other pairs of Support Pokemon. These are as follows:

Emolga and Fennekin
Snivy and Lapras
Frogadier and Eevee
Pachirisu and Magikarp
Croagunk and Sylveon
Jirachi and Whimsicott
Cubone and Diglett
Mismagius and Ninetails
Rotom and Togekiss
Farfetch'd and Electrode
Dragonite and Victini
Magneton and Quagsire
Espeon and Umbreon

In addition to these four newly revealed Support Pokemons, "Pokken Tournament" features two other Legendary Pokemons, Suicune and Mewtwo. Unlike the other four, these two are playable characters in the game.

There are currently a total of 16 playable Pokemons in the game, although Nintendo News suggests there might be more than that. Skipping to the 0:50 mark in the video, readers will see the character select screen, which has space for a total of 20 slots, excluding "Random." Whether these slots will be filled or not remains to be seen.

"Pokken Tournament" is scheduled to release to the Nintendo Wii U worldwide on March 18. The game will support all Amiibo.
