Samsung Galaxy S7 Release Tipped to Land February 2016, Private Event Scheduled?
Samsung is making a lot of noise when it comes to their latest flagship smartphone dubbed as the Galaxy S7. There are no official details about it yet but as expected, the rumor mill is filled up with reports about it especially with regards to its release date.
According to SamMobile, there's a possibility that the Galaxy S7 will arrive in the month of February 2016. Earlier reports pointed out a big January release but it seems like things have changed or the rumor was never really true. The source stated that a reliable tipster informed them that the unveiling of the upcoming device will happen during a private event that will be held on Feb. 21, 2016.
The event, which is the Galaxy Unpacked 2016, is scheduled a day before the Mobile World Congress which is set from Feb. 22 to Feb. 25. Samsung has been traditionally unveiling its Galaxy S series handsets a day prior the world's largest annual gathering and the same could be done for the Galaxy S7. However, the South Korean electronics giant has not released any official statement yet so it is best to take the rumor with a grain of salt.
Same with its release date, the known specs and features of the Galaxy S7 remain as rumors for now. Neurogadget detailed that Samsung's current crown jewel will come in two variants with different screen sizes. One will have an Exynos 8890 series octa-core CPU and the other one will carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 series quad-core processor.
It will run with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will be equipped with 4 GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of internal storage. It's also said that one of the variants will sport a 5.2-inch display while the other one will come with a 5.8-inch version. Digital Spy noted that it will have 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display with 23-megapixel camera, USB Type-C port and iris scanner as well as wireless charging.
If the February launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 will push through, it means that there will only be a few months left to wait for its arrival.
