Samsung Galaxy S9 Specs Rumors: New Commercial Mocks Apple?

Samsung has taken Apple to task for abandoning the 3.5 mm audio jack, among other points in their latest video. It could be safe to assume, then, that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 will carry on this feature.

The new video called "Samsung Galaxy: Growing Up" was just released by Samsung on Sunday, Nov. 5, and it has already tallied more than ten million views on the phone maker's U.S. YouTube channel alone. It's currently marked as the fourth most trending clip on Google's video service.

It's less of a loving tribute to the Samsung Galaxy and more like a bullet point of all the things the iPhone has gotten wrong over the generations. Along the way, the video poked fun at the Apple fans who are still willing to put up with the phone maker's design decisions.

In a segment of the clip, the iPhone owner went so far as to use a special dongle to use headphones while charging an older generation of the iPhone, while the Samsung Galaxy was shown to already support wireless charging — a new feature of this year's iPhone releases.

It looks like Samsung is keen to point out Apple's decision to get rid of the 3.5 mm audio jack, a design change that a few iPhone fans were not especially fond of. While earlier reports hinted at the audio jack-less version of the Galaxy S9, this new video hints otherwise.

If the Samsung does decide to keep the standard audio jack in the Galaxy S9, it will be one of the few premium phone makers to do so, since Google has caved in to the temptation of relying on wireless earbuds.

The video below shows Samsung roasting the iPhone for, among other things, getting rid of the perfectly serviceable 3.5 mm audio jack for newer audio features. For now, the Korean phone maker looks to be picking up the reliable port where others have abandoned it in favor of wireless connections.
