Bandai Namco Announces Return of Eddy Gordo in 'Tekken 7'

A new character has officially joined the roster of highly anticipated fighting game "Tekken 7." According to Bandai Namco, fans can look forward to the return of long-time "Tekken" character Eddy Gordo.

Eddy is known for his iconic yellow and green fighting clothes, but he has also donned other gear in the past. However, for the reveal trailer that Bandai Namco shared, he is wearing a leopard print jacket over a white tank with layered necklaces. He is still rocking his usual dreadlocks, though.

Bandai Namco announced his inclusion in "Tekken 7" via their official website. "Brazilian Capoeira combines dance, acrobatics, and music to form a deadly martial art," the announcement began. "When practiced by an expert practitioner such as Eddy Gordo, bodies will break, blood will be spilled, and battles will be won."

The post also outlined Eddy's story concerning the Mishima Zaibatsu. It all started when Eddy came to Jin Kazama and begged him to cure his Capoeira master's serious health condition. In exchange, Eddy will work for Jin. However, the Mishima Zaibatsu was unable to treat his Capoeira master. This resulted in Eddy vowing to take revenge against Kazuya Mishima's company.

Joining Eddy are seven new fighters, reports CNET. The first one is Kazumi, Heihachi's wife and Kazuya Mishima's mother who was believed to have died. The others are supernatural exorcist Claudio, J-Pop-obsessed Lucky Chloe, mutant Gigas, Filipino kickboxer Josie, Saudi Arabian bodyguard Shaheen and Akuma from "Street Fighter."

There were previous rumors surrounding the release date of "Tekken 7." After a Swedish retail site posted a February date with the upcoming title, fans went wild. However, Bandai Namco quickly took charge of the situation and put an end to the rumors. Since then, the official release date of "Tekken 7" has been announced.

"Tekken 7" will be released worldwide on June 2 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
