Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Review: Specs, Features and Price Summary

Those who ever wished that they could get a tablet that could replace a laptop might find that the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is what they've been looking for all this time. Microsoft has gone all out to advertise the product, and the NFL has even endorsed it as their "official tablet."

Indeed, Microsoft has created a device that is both powerful and portable, making it a good device for both business and leisure.

Here's a look at the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Design:
The Surface Pro 3 looks and feels like a premium device. It's covered in a bright silver colored magnesium shell. It's lighter and thinner than its predecessor—it measures 7.93 x 11.5 x 0.36 inches and weighs only 1.76 pounds.

The device has a kickstand that can be secured at any angle. It also has a Type Cover that latches on to the Pro 3's lower bezel with a strong magnet. The cover also comes in five colors: red, cyan, blue, black, and purple. Tucked inside the cover is the Surface Pen, which has an aluminum finish and a clicker on top.

Features:
The Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and pixel density of 216ppi. Photos and videos appear bright and detailed, with accurate and vivid colors.

Each model comes with a fourth generation Intel Core processor, either i3, i5, or i7. This comes with either 4GB or 8GB RAM, and internal storage options come in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The Pro 3 runs on Windows 8.1 Pro.

The Surface Pro 3 comes with two 5MP cameras, and though they don't take great quality pictures as other tablets, both cameras are perfectly functional for Skype video calls, selfies, and the like.

Price:
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 costs from $799 for the 64GB variant to $1,949 for the 512GB model.
