The Christian Post’s eight-part series “Leaving Christianity” explores the reasons why many Americans are rejecting the faith they grew up with.

The Christian Post received numerous testimonies from those who were raised in largely conservative churches but eventually left Christianity.

Responding to the question of whether evolution contradicts the Bible, April Maskiewicz Cordero, professor of biology at Point Loma Nazarene University in California, answered, "I find that the best way to begin thinking about the evolution and creation issue is to focus on the fact that all Christians agree that God created and it was “good”. In this way, we are all “creationists” because we believe in a divine power who created. What we may disagree on, however, is how God created — the mechanism of God’s creation."

Scripture Candy gives hope to Christians on Halloween

A company called Scripture Candy based in Alabama offered blessed candy wrapped in bits of Scripture and inspirational messages to share with trick-or-treaters.

Co-founder Michael McCarron said, “You got these people coming to your door and as a Christian, you could be a lazy Christian, [you can] stay at your house, leave your light on instead of turning it off and when they come to your door, pass out a piece of candy that has the Gospel on it, an uplifting message. That’s how the whole thing got started and [it] took us a while to get it up and running.”

Pro-choice Pa. lawmaker apologizes to mother, 2 daughters for harassment

A pro-choice Pennsylvania state legislator who harassed a mother and her two daughters as they prayed outside an abortion clinic recently sent them a letter of apology asking for their forgiveness months after the altercation.

Democratic state Rep. Brian Sims sent a letter to Ashley Garecht apologizing for an altercation he instigated in April when he filmed himself berating her and her two teenage daughters, and called on supporters to doxx them.

“I regret the harm that I caused and I have learned a great deal from this. I can only ask for your forgiveness and I wish you all the best in the future,” wrote Sims.

In April, Sims confronted and filmed Garecht and her two teenage daughters who were praying outside an abortion clinic, and offered $100 to anyone who could identify them.

He also posted a video on Twitter showing himself harassing an elderly woman who was praying outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Philadelphia.

13th century painting depicting Christ being mocked on way to cross, found in France, sold for $27M

An early Renaissance work of art depicting the mocking of Christ as He made his way to be crucified was found in the kitchen of a French woman and was sold for approximately $27 million on Sunday.

The 13th century painting, called "Christ Mocked," by Florentine painter Cimabue, had hung for decades above a cooking hotplate in the open-plan kitchen of a home near Compiègne, north of Paris.

The artwork had reportedly never attracted significant attention from the woman, who is in her 90s, or her family, who thought it was an old icon from Russia.

The painting, which measures 26 centimeters by 20 centimeters, was auctioned off outside of Paris Sunday for approximately $21.7 million, which rose to nearly $27 million once fees were included.
