10. Maintained the Hyde Amendment

Although known for his strong pro-choice position on abortion, which included among other things vetoing a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, Obama did maintain the so-called Hyde Amendment.

The Amendment in question bars federal funds from being used for abortions with the exception of cases involving rape, incest or endangerment to the life of the mother.

In 2010, to help get enough votes to support the Affordable Care Act, Obama went as far as to issue an executive order applying the Hyde Amendment to the healthcare law.
