Hamilton said the current wave of inflation is “the result of self-inflicted wounds” caused by the tariffs of President Donald Trump and the war with Iran.
“Erratic tariffs — 10% one day, 40% the next — have harmed consumers, small businesses and farmers,” Hamilton said. “The president’s war with Iran has caused gas prices in Kansas to spike by over $1 a gallon, and fertilizer prices for farmers to increase even more.”
The pastor added that Congress “should be a check and balance on the president, rather than sitting in silence while Kansans struggle to pay more to fill our tanks and put food on our tables.”
At present, Iran and the United States are undergoing peace negotiations amid ongoing clashes between their militaries, reported The Guardian, with an agreement remaining on the table.
