Adele News: Singer's 'Send My Love (To Your New Lover)' Music Video to Debut in Billboard Music Awards

The music video of the recently digitally released single of Adele, "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" will make its worldwide debut during the live broadcast of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards happening on Sunday, May 22.

According to Billboard, the song, which is part of the singers' "25" album, was co-written and co-produced by the singer herself with Max Martin & Shellback. On the other hand, the music video of "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" was shot in London and formed under the directorial skills of Patrick Daughters.

Much of the songs included in Adele's "25" album is a product of collaboration. It was reported that the singer reached out to Max Martin and Shellback to collaborate with her on the album after hearing some of their works, as per Romper. The pair is known for penning songs of other big names in the music industry such as Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Getting Back Together," "Bad Blood" and "I Knew You Were Trouble" as well as Justin Timberlake's current number one single "Can't Stop the Feeling."

According to reports, Adele was completely smitten upon hearing Max Martin and Shellback's "I Knew You Were Trouble," and, from there, the rest was history between her and the pair of songwriters.

Romper opines that "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" is not the conventional ballad that one can hear from Adele as it sounds more like a pop theme song for people who are trying to move on after a breakup. The blog site cited the interview of the singer over iHeartRadio, wherein she disclosed that the song took inspiration from a sad part of her life, specifically from her experience with her ex-boyfriend. However, according to Romper, the singer stressed that the song has a happy and triumphant tune despite the fact that it took form from an unhappy event in her life.
