The lawsuit has been filed in Illinois. It is claimed that Jolie’s directorial debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” which she also wrote, copied Braddock’s book, which also tells the story of a rape victim who ends up working as a servant in a camp filled with soldiers who previously abused her.

The lawsuit states: “The subject work’s main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp. In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives.”

Braddock’s lawyers have filed for copyright infringement and have also added GK Films to the suit; the company that released Jolie’s movie.

“In the Land of Blood and Honey” is scheduled to be released Dec. 23.
