'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is the sequel to 'Man of Steel?'

With "Batman v Superman" coming to the big screens in less than a year, fans of the mighty Superman are still worrying about the fate of their big hero; however, new updates from director Zack Snyder himself just may put an end to the questions.

Slash Film says fans of the DC world continue to question what the DC Universe (DCU) is planning in terms of Superman's run in the cinematic universe, and while many think that the red-caped hero may end up just like Hulk of Marvel, Snyder has given out some clarifications to appease the millions rooting for the "Man of Steel."

Snyder has said earlier that he will be making a sequel to Man of Steel. The movie is now entitled "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." According to Movie News Guide, Snyder says he is convinced that the upcoming movie is "in a way" the sequel since it does pick up from where the Man of Steel movie ended.

Snyder goes on to explain that in the trailer, Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne is shouting and running toward a falling building, as the result of the Superman versus General Zod battle. The scene attempts to portray that Bruce a.k.a. Batman was in Metropolis on the same day Superman and Zod were fighting, thus giving the "Dark Knight" a firsthand view of what Superman is capable of.

The director also made mention of the intention of "Dawn of Justice," which is to introduce Batman, as well as the seven founding members of the "Justice League." However, he notes that Batman's coming will continue to "keep in mind the aftermath" of the Superman and Zod battle, which is another proof that the 2016 movie is indeed "Man of Steel 2."

According to IGN, the upcoming movie is giving way to the "Knights of the Round Table" story, thus adding more sense to call it Man of Steel 2.

Meanwhile, Snyder's statements are still doubtful to some fans, with several saying DCU is ending Superman's career in the big screen.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release on March 25, 2016.
