'From Sadie's Sketchbook' Series Debuts 'Brilliant Hues'

Author Naomi Kinsman has announced the latest book in the "From Sadie's Sketchbook" series, which will be released in the fall. "Brilliant Hues" is a coming home of sorts for the beloved tween superstar who is making her way through life.

In "Brilliant Hues," Sadie and her family return home to California so that her father can take on a new, high-profile case. All of the attention shown by the media thrusts Sadie and her family into the spotlight, and Sadie must deal with the intense scrutiny and pressure.

Audiences familiar with Sadie's story have already read the other books in the series, including "Shades of Truth," "Flickering Hope," and "Waves of Light." The spunky pre-teen uses her art and journaling in to work through the turmoil that accompanies coming-of-age and being a Christian teen.

Kinsman's books often include "excerpts" from Sadie's writings, which allow a reader to feel more connected to the protagonist. There is also an online website where readers can see exactly what Sadie is up to, what she is thinking and what comes next for the young girl.

Kinsman currently serves as the Assistant Regional Advisor for the San Francisco South chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, which gives her prime exposure to her audience. She manages to include religious themes throughout her writings and provides a solid Christian message or lesson in each and every one.

According to Publishers Weekly, "Kinsman offers a realistic and nuanced rendering that works for readers who want to know about the role of Christian faith in a young person's development, as well as those who like a fresh story about the journey of growing up."

The "Sketchbook" series is published under the FAITHGIRLZ! collection from Zondervan, which is the Christian publishing house of HarperCollins. To learn more about Sadie, or Kinsman, go to www.sadies-sketchbooks.com.
