Galaxy S5 News: Features Displayed in New Video (WATCH)

Many of the Galaxy S5 rumors were confirmed this week when Samsung finally unveiled the device at its "Unpacked" event.

The company also released a short video that displays many of the features of the smartphone in much better detail. The clip shows the hardware features of the Galaxy S5 including the textured back, flap over micro-USB port which makes device water resistant, and the 5.1-inch 1080p display.

It also touches on the new camera features including the fast auto focus and the fingerprint scanner found in the home button. The video does a good job in summing up the most important aspects of the new device.

The Galaxy S5 will replace the S4 as Samsung's current flagship device and will feature what the company deems a "glam" design with a perforated back plate that shines in different lighting conditions. It will have full LTE coverage, Wi-Fi MIMO 802.11 to cut down buffering, and a download booster that will allow users to download 1GB worth of media in 30 seconds.

Samsung has also drastically improved the battery that now provides users with 10 hours of web surfing and 12 hours of video playback and offers a new Ultra Power Saving mode. This new mode can grant the user another 24 hours' worth of power even if their phone is only at 10 percent. It does this by only keeping necessary functions on and turning the screen to black and white.

Samsung also decided to install a fingerprint swipe feature that users can utilize for authorizing payments. It can unlock a special private mode which secures all important documents, settings and files.

The device will be the first to feature a heart rate monitor for a top notch fitness experience. Samsung's S Health will also be available and it allows users to download an app called Coach that is designed to keep users in shape.

It will come in four colors: Charcoal Black, White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
