The new Georgia law also restricts anyone other than poll workers from distributing campaign material or giving money, gifts, food or drink to an elector within 150 feet of the polling place or within 25 feet of a voter standing in line.

Though it cannot be delivered to them, the state still gives voters access to water despite contrary claims and does not prevent them from bringing their own food and water to consume while they wait in line. 

Many states also have electioneering prohibition measures, and most states set a pre-determined distance away from the poll, typically from 50 to 200 feet.

Nine states prohibit loitering altogether in these parameters, including California, Connecticut, Louisiana and New Jersey, according to an NCSL analysis published this month.
