iOS 8 Release Date, Update: No Dramatic Changes Expected for Possible September 10, 2014 Date

Earlier in June, Apple held its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, more commonly known as WWDC. At the event, they mentioned a number of exciting product updates for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, as well as its upcoming iOS 8 operating system.

Contrary to the previous iOS 7 update where it virtually overhauled the overall look and feel of Apple interface, iOS8 will be there to further enhance the previous software.

With that saying, users won't be able to see any dramatic changes although new features, tweaks, improvements and bug fixes are to be expected.

According to TechRadar, the latest iOS will feature a much more improved Mac system integration while at the same time offering more leniencies on Apple's Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Other updates include a smarter keyboard where it recognizes whether the user is composing an email or a text message; broader shareability option where it enables up to six people to gain access on each other's iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases; more file convergence where one could work on their iCloud files either on a Mac or PC; better fitness tracker system; and more others to mention.

It has also been revealed in the talk that iOS 8 will be compatible for iPhone 4s to the latest and iPad 2 to the newest. iPads mini, mini 2, and iPod Touch 5th Gen are also going to work with the new OS.

As of the release date, Apple didn't mention any particular schedule. But if the Cupertino-based tech company would follow its usual pattern (iPhone releases on Tuesdays, iOS update download on Wednesdays, and unit selling on Fridays) then Sept. 10, Wednesday will be the most possible date to watch out.
