iPhone X News: Apple Co-Founder Worried Will Not Be Upgrading and Here's Why

Considering the current competition in the smartphone market, tech giants are hard at work to keep their flagship devices have defining features that will help it stand out among the others being offered to consumers.

With this goal in mind, Apple has chosen to redesign and make the iPhone X more powerful than those that were previously released. Unfortunately, it seems that not everyone is excited to upgrade to the iPhone X, and this includes Apple's co-founder, Steve Wozniak.

"I am just worried about what it provides me. I'd rather wait and watch that one. I'm happy with my iPhone 8 — which is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6, to me," Wozniak said, speaking on the sidelines of the Money 20/20 conference, as reported by CNBC. "For some reason, the iPhone X is going to be the first iPhone I didn't — on day one — upgrade to. But my wife will, so I'll be close enough to see it."

Considering how Apple has been marketing the iPhone X signifies a new era of smartphones, the statement from Wozniak is a surprise, especially for the veteran fans. Furthermore, he said that the Face ID feature seems to be doubtful as many of its aspects remain underdeveloped, given that it was just recently introduced to a smartphone. However, it might not be a cause for concern as the co-founder has also said that his attention is currently elsewhere, namely electric vehicles and self-driving cars.

Wozniak found Apple with Steve Jobs in 1976. He left the company almost 10 years later after expressing his frustration at the direction that the company has chosen to follow. Despite this, Wozniak has remained to be one of the avid supporters and fans of the brand. Given his statement on the upcoming iPhone X, it remains to be seen as to how it will affect the already dubious sales of the latest flagship from Apple.

The iPhone X is scheduled to be released on Nov. 3, with pre-orders beginning on Oct. 27.
