Kara Williamson Releases New Album
The new project, Undisguised, by singer/songwriter Kara Williamson and produced by INO Records, is set to be released on February 22nd.
Williamson defines Undisguised as "shedding the performance mentalityall the comparisons, pretending, facades and disguises" as she co-wrote most of the songs on her first project with INO Records. "I'm admitting that I'm flawed," confesses Williamson, "I'm a broken vesselthankfully, God uses broken vessels."
"My biggest struggle has been feeling the need to perform and be perfect all the time," she says. "Growing up, I found myself motivated to meet people's expectations. Even on my past work, I felt like I had to prove myself to people. I still struggle with it, but God has been breaking down my self-view through the process of this record and I?fm at the place now where I'm re-learning that I don?ft have to do anything to gain His approval."
Undisguised is her way of expressing this statement which she considers is her greatest challenge in life.
Her album features songs that share her honest pleas to God with listeners that may be or have gone through a similar experience as well as featuring a love song that she dedicated to her husband which is titled, "You Are the One."
Williamson's songs are all inspired by her own life's experiences and/or those of her family and others around her. Her remake of Michael W. Smith's "Unloved" and the title of her
album "Undisguised" pretty much sums up the message of her album.
Williamson has toured with Michael W. Smith and Point of Grace for the "Christmastime Tour," on the
"Christmas with Amy Grant" tour, as well as participating on the "iWorship Tour" and dates with Natalie Grant and The Katinas.
Kara is managed by Blanton Harrell Cooke & Corzine Management based in Nashville, TN.
