Melissa King Video: Miss Teen Delaware Resigns After Pornography Past is Exposed

Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant winner Melissa King resigned from her post after a pornography video surfaced appearing to star the 18-year-old beauty queen.

King was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA last November and has since seen her life heading in a more positive direction she noted on Facebook.

"I'm about to turn 19 and so much has changed for the better in my life in the past year... Nothing can bring me down," the teen wrote Sunday on her wall.

On Monday, a video of a girl who appears to be King was posted on a pornography website. The video was made four months before King was announced as Miss Delaware. During an interview in the video, a young brunette admitted that she has done pageants and that she has a March birthday. King also has a birthday in March. When asked why she is agreeing to the video, the girl suggested that she could use the money.

"I thought it'd be fun and it sounded like I needed the money," the young girl said in a clip of the video acquired by the Daily Mail. "So I just decided to do it."

Miss Teen USA released a statement earlier, confirming the King had stepped down at that the runner-up to the pageant had been contacted.

"I would like to confirm the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King's attorney," a spokesperson for the pageant said.

King lived in a foster home from the age of 12-18 and in previous interviews about her win, she said her plans were to focus special volunteer efforts on other foster children. On Saturday, King suggested on Twitter that she was aware that her past was about to be exposed.

"Once you move on in life people shouldn't try to use your past against you... Let them be happy," she wrote on February 23rd. The post was later deleted.
