Miami Heat News and Updates 2015: Gerald Green Reportedly Out of Hospital

Miami Heat's newly acquired guard Gerald Green has finally been discharged from a hospital in South Florida where he was confined after suffering from an undisclosed illness. But the same as the first time the news was reported, team officials did not provide any official statement regarding Green's condition.

The Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue in a report from Omnisport said that they responded to a call last week in the vicinity of the Marquis Residences condominium, where Green and fellow Miami guard Mario Chalmers live.

They said that the individual, who reportedly is Green but won't confirm it because of privacy laws, was rushed to the hospital because he was bleeding and already passed out. The same report also said that the Heat guard was combative but was not arrested by the police.

The 29-year-old former Phoenix Suns guard started the season on a high note, oftentime seen as the best offensive option for the team off the bench.

Chalmers was the one who accompanied Green to the hospital, even riding with him in the ambulance. However, he couldn't tell reporters about his teammate's condition saying that he actually didn't know what was wrong.

The 2007 NBA Slam Dunk champion played for several teams in the NBA right after Boston got him out of high school in the 2005 NBA Draft. As a well-traveled professional basketball player, he also had stints in China and Russia before returning to the NBA. He recently signed with Miami in the offseason for a one-year contract worth the veteran's minimum. In his first three games with the Heat, Green averaged 10.3 points in less than 22 minutes of play.

There is no word yet as to when Green will be able to rejoin his team, but several teammates, including Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Udonis Haslem, said that they already corresponded with Green and that he's fine.
