Miss Piggy as BAFTA Host This Coming Weekend

Muppets star Miss Piggy will host the upcoming British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards show this Sunday, Feb. 12 at London's Royal Opera House, where the popular muppet will rub elbows with such superstar celebrities as nominees Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Meryl Streep.

The BAFTA awards are a precursor to the Grammy Awards, and are considered to be Britain's biggest night in film.

"Imagine the likes of George Clooney, Dujardin, Fassbender, Oldman and Pitt achieving the very pinnacle of their careers -- being interviewed by the one and only moi!" Piggy told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Naturally I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask," the sassy puppet added.

Piggy went on the tell The Hollywood Reporter that although she doesn't plan to lock arms with former female wrestler Stacey Keibler, her significant other, actor George Clooney, is fair game.

"I don't wrestle girlfriends. No. However, if George wants to wrestle, bring it on! Best two out of three falls? Winner gets a dinner?" Miss Piggy said.

Many see Miss Piggy's hosting as a smart move by the event's sponsor, Orange, because Miss Piggy's puppet persona allows her to ask inappropriate questions and comments without being reprimanded.

The puppet is also known as a high maintenance diva, which should provide much comedic fodder at the high profile, red carpet event.

The Muppets are a troop of puppet characters created by "The Muppeteer" Jim Henson in 1954. The characters, including Kermit the Frog, have become household names in American pop culture.

The Muppets have recently made a comeback with their 2011 movie, "The Muppets." The film raked in $42 million when it opened in box office on Nov. 23, 2011.
