Nexus 6, Nexus X Release Date, Specs Rumors: Motorola Shamu to Be Unveiled Along With Android L 5?
For the past few months, the tech news world has been bombarded with leaks and rumors regarding the purported brand-new Google phone, the Nexus 6 or Nexus X.
In the most recent rumblings, it has been said that the upcoming flagship will be launched alongside the new OS, the Android L 5, which is yet to be named with a delicious Nestle brand.
According to Expertreviews, the new handset from Google will be called the Nexus 6, although, the name will certainly be met with legal issues as the term is closely incorporated with the 1982 American neo-noir dystopian film "Blade Runner." Fans of the tech line will have to wait until the item itself is revealed.
The tech site further cited 9to5Google and Android Police dishing out their mock-up versions of the forthcoming device. It's also being called the Motorola Shamu.
As detailed, the Nexus 6/Nexus X will look like the Moto X 2nd Gen handset with a huge 5.92-inch 2, 560x1,440 qHD display. Its pixel density is set to measure 498ppi.
It is also reported to have a powerful 3,200mAh battery that will enable the smartphone to last for a long time despite the huge power consumption rate of the large display.
Processor-wise, rumor consensus won't seem to align with each other. Some sites claim it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC or Snapdragon 801 with 3Gb of RAM.
Since it is already indicated that it will on the latest Android L operating system, the next-gen model will likely contain the 64-bit support chipset.
Latest rumors suggest that the upcoming reiteration will be unveiled on Wednesday, Oct. 15 or 16 together with Nexus 8 or Nexus 9.
"An October launch does seem reasonable, with the phone likely to go on sale in November. Looking at the previous Nexus phone launches an October or November launch seems likely," the media outlet speculated.
