'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Update: 'Blood and Wine' DLC Features New Characters & Storyline

CD Projekt RED has already released the "Heart of Stones" DLC for the action role-playing video game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." It came along with contents that fixed the flaws of the game and added a new thrill that players can look forward to. But now, the fans are waiting for another DLC expansion which is titled "Blood and Wine."

According to Realty Today, the upcoming new DLC is scheduled to be released sometime in 2016. It was announced by narrative designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz during the PAX Australia 2015.

A CD Projekt Red representative told GameSpot, "We'll be communicating more about the exact launch date of Blood and Wine at a later point in time. Stay tuned."

There are no official details yet on what will come along with it but the source detailed that players of the game can expect to meet new characters. These characters will be based on the written books of Andrzej Sapkowski.

The expansion pack will likely bring sorceress Fringilla Vigo, Geralt's former lover and Duchess Anna Henrietta. Venture Capital Post also detailed that the expansion will feature new monsters, as said by Community Manager Marcin Momot. Gamers can expect characters like Manticore, Stringas, and Bruxas, as well as new horse breeds. There will also be new mod kits.

"Blood and Wine" DLC will also reveal a new storyline. Taking place in the Kingdom of Toussaint, revelations and plot twists will unfold, making the game more interesting than ever. It is said to offer around 20 hours of gameplay which is twice the hours in "Hearts of Stone." The upcoming new expansion will be playable in PS4, Xbox One and PC.

While waiting, fans can check out "Hearts of Stone" DLC expansion pack for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" which are both now playable in the same platforms and in all regions.
