Carmen Schentrup would have celebrated her 17th birthday on Feb. 21. She was remembered this week for her intelligence. She was one of 10 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to qualify as a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist for the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program, the Sun Sentinel said.
