Top conservative rebukes of Trump for 'grotesque' Rob Reiner death post: 'Completely inappropriate'
6. Jenna Ellis: 'Horrible example'
Jenna Ellis, a Christian who formerly served as Trump's attorney but has been willing to criticize him, tore into Trump for the post she compared to the gleeful responses to the late Charlie Kirk's death, which were widely condemned on the right.
"A man and his wife were murdered last night. This is NOT the appropriate response. The Right uniformly condemned political and celebratory responses to Charlie Kirk’s death," she posted to X.
"This is a horrible example from Trump (and surprising considering the two attempts on his own life) and should be condemned by everyone with any decency."

Earlier this year, Ellis expressed concern about the state of Trump's soul after he made comments suggesting he is "not Heaven-bound." She noted that she could personally confirm that Trump has heard the Gospel many times from different people.
Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet did not directly respond to Trump's post, but recalled that Reiner was compassionate when Kirk was killed.
"Rob Reiner responded with grace and compassion to Charlie's assassination. This video makes it all the more painful to hear of he [sic] and his wife's tragic end. May God be close to the broken hearted in this terrible story," he said.
