'Transformers 5' Spoilers: Hasbro Toys as Inspiration?

The upcoming installment of the "Transformers" franchise is expected to bring in the Hasbro toys to life in a new way.

While more details of the upcoming "Transformer 5" movie have yet to be revealed, it was reported that it is likely for the franchise to put more focus on the Autobots. The previous installments of the franchise had stories that centered more on humans, rather than the Autobots themselves. However, it was speculated that the Transformers will soon take the lead.

With that, the headwriter of the upcoming installment, Akiva Goldsman, recently shared some details to Deadline about the inspiration for "Transformers 5." He said, "We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe."

Goldman also expressed his excitement to be involved with the franchise, revealing that he is looking forward to get in touch with his childhood. He said, "We will be innovative miners, and we will have fun and get to do what we imagined this was all about when we were kids."

He and his team will be working with Michael Bay, who has confirmed to take on the director's seat for the franchise once again. Along with his return, it was speculated that Mark Wahlberg will be returning as his previous role of Cade Yeager.

Previous reports revealed that the franchise will be expanding, as it will be receiving several spin-off movies. This has caused fans to speculate that past stars of the franchise, such as Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf, will be returning. However, these details have yet to be confirmed.

No news about the release date for the new installment has been announced, but "Transformers 5" is expected to release by 2017.
