The Trump administration has announced that it will launch a review of around 55 million people who have valid U.S. visas to see if they have any violations.

The U.S. State Department told The Associated Press that it was looking for any indicators of ineligibility, such as criminal activity, giving any support to terrorist organizations, or staying in the country past the preapproved timeframe.

"We review all available information as part of our vetting, including law enforcement or immigration records or any other information that comes to light after visa issuance, indicating a potential ineligibility," the department said, as reported by AP.

The review will likely include some who are currently outside of the U.S. with multiple-entry tourist visas and who might not return to the country, regardless.
