'Avengers 3: Infinity War' release date, Plot Spoilers: No 'Guardians of the Galaxy' crossover and other expected characters
It's still a while before fans can get to see "Avengers 3: Infinity Part 1;" however, speculations are already rampant as to what fans can expect from the film. Marvel fans know that the third installment of Avengers will be most likely be Phase 3 of the studio's vision of its cinematic universe. This means more superheroes should be coming in at this point.
The most recent crossover many are hoping to see would be that of "Guardians of the Galaxy" and the Avengers. According to Movie Pilot, Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the Avengers, was recently in Wizard World Chicago when he was asked the question of whether he was excited for the crossover to happen. He responded with, "Is that going to happen? Do you know more than I know? I think they'll probably do another Guardians movie, and we still have Avengers 3 and 4 to do." With that said, Renner could be implying that there would be more movies to come out before the expected crossover actually happens. He also said, "Look, you're going to be like eighty by the time that comes out...and I'm certainly not going to be Hawkeye. I'm going to be a dead guy..."
At this point, fans are torn as to whether Renner could be telling the truth, since Guardians of the Galaxy has only had one movie out and it would probably be too soon to do any crossovers. Then again, many are aware that actors sign nondisclosure agreements that require them to stay quiet with what they know.
Fans can expect that other Marvel characters are going to be introduced in the movie, such as Doctor Strange, who will be played by "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch; Black Panther to be played by Chadwick Boseman; Captain Marvel, which has not been cast yet, though Emily Blunt is rumored for the role; The Inhumans, which are yet to be announced; and Tom Holland's new portrayal of Spider-Man. There is also news that Quicksilver could be resurrected, but it has not been confirmed.
For now, it seems that Marvel is focused on getting the story rolling for all its other characters before making major crossovers. However, moviegoers will be well satisfied with the lineup of movies Marvel has set for the next four years.
The Avengers: Infinity Part 1 is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
