iPad Pro 2015 Release Date, Specs Rumors: What Do We Know About Apple's Unconfirmed iOS Slate?

Since late 2013, there have been rumors surrounding Apple and its alleged gigantic tablet, the iPad Pro. Unfortunately, most of these iPad Pro rumors have not been confirmed, nor denied by Apple itself.

First tipped to launch in 2014, the device was seen as a game changer in a market that was becoming more inclined to tablets and other large screen devices. However, the failure of another 12-inched slate, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 may have contributed to the iPad Pro being shelved indefinitely.

After the Korean manufacturer launched the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, it never got the momentum to sell well in its target market. Before 2014 ended, Apple then began a new age in smartphone development, and most manufacturers have now followed suit -- launching two devices with different screen sizes.

Still, in spite lack of any details from Apple itself, there is a possibility that the Cupertino manufacturer would create a new version of its iPad lineup. Earlier this year, Apple launched the first ever MacBook 2015, which employed new design cues, a more powerful chipset, and a much thinner frame. The announcement of the new MacBook alone is proof that the company is willing to experiment on new devices.

That could also be the case with the iPad Pro. Its rumored 12.9-inch display would be the biggest in any Apple tablet to date. In addition, the iPad Pro is said to utilise fully the split-screen multi-tasking features that Apple has recently introduced in its devices. Other rumored features of the device include Force Touch technology, an 8MP primary camera, and iOS 9 out of the box.

Moreover, the rumored Apple tablet could come with a bundled keyboard to easily make it a tablet-laptop hybrid. In fact, some experts see it as a rival to Microsoft's very own Surface Pro 3, and the expected Surface Pro 4, which is rumored to be announced in October.
