'Metal Gear Online' News: Konami Announces DLC Plans For The Game
As the saga between developer Konami and "Metal Gear's" Hideo Kojima continues, fans are worried that the fallout of the ongoing conflict will include an impact on the future of "Metal Gear" video games. When Kojima Productions LA closed last month, players of "Metal Gear Online" were worried about their favorite game and its future. Publisher Konami came to the rescue when it announced that it will be bringing new content to the game.
A wave of panic was felt by players when Kojima Productions LA closed its doors – most of them thought that this would mean the end for their favorite. According to a report on iDigital Times, this panic was felt across the "Metal Gear Online" community.
In an effort to appease fans of the online game, Konami announced its plans of bringing new content to MGO which will arrive in the "near future." This move also indicated that the publisher is not yet planning to terminate its content support for the game, something that most game fans have been fearing since the start of the Konami-Kojima conflict.
Konami took to Twitter to make the announcement, saying that a new set of maps and a new game mode called Survival is in the works.
While it is unclear which of the studios are handling content development or when the content will be released, it is nevertheless a welcome piece of news for players that Konami will continue its support for the game.
In related news, Konami has been mum about when the PC version of "Metal Gear Online" will be released on Steam. Earlier announcements point to a January 2016 launch, but not much has been heard about this recently, prompting the PC community to doubt if it will be arriving anytime soon.
The PC community has been expecting to see the online portion of "Metal Gear Solid V" which was recently released.
