Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date, Specs Details Rumors: 4K UHD Video at 60fps with Three 4K Displays at Once

Microsoft is reportedly preparing to release its new Surface Pro 4 early next month in a hardware event to launch its other new devices.

Microsoft's new and upcoming tablet, the Surface Pro 4 is likely to make its official debut in a week after rumors started emerging last month the Redmond, Washington tech giant was gearing up for a successor to the Surface Pro 3, its third-gen tablet/laplet hybrid released in June last year.

Reported to be a 14-inch giant among tablet/laplet hybrids, the Surface Pro 4, which will ship with the new Windows 10, will also come in a 12-inch version.

It is expected to carry the new Intel Core M, with the smaller version equipped with either Core i5 or Core i7. Both variants are likely to have the latest Intel Skylake chips installed, with the US semiconductor company's Iris and Iris Pro graphics integration to improve the device's 3D gaming performance by as much as 50 percent.

With the new Skylake chips, users will be able to view 4K UHD video at 60fps with three 4K displays at once. They will also be able to wake their Surface Pro 4 with a simple voice command to Cortana, Windows 10's intelligent personal assistant.

The Surface Pro 4 may come with similar storage options as its predecessor, with 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 500GB variants.

Back in April, a report published on Chinese tech website, 36KR suggested the Surface Pro 4 will be a fanless device that will ship with small holes in the tablet's casing to allow heat to dissipate.

It is also likely to come equipped with its own accessories, including a pressure-sensitive stylus manufactured by N-Trig, an Israel-based digital pen tech company, which Microsoft purchased for $132 million back in May.

Microsoft has already sent out press invites for its new hardware event in New York on October 6, where it is expected to launch the Surface Pro 4, its two new Windows 10 Lumia smartphones, and a second generation fitness Band 2.
