'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Plot News: Sam Esmail Scared To Be Alone with Cast

With the successful debut season of "Mr. Robot," more news on the sophomore season have been circulating the web.

Sam Esmail, the executive producer of the series, revealed some teasers for the upcoming season during an interview at the New York Comic-Con. He explained that the story of the series will soon become dark, which will present a different vibe compared to the previous episode.

With that, it was reported that "Mr. Robot" season 2 will be presenting a lot of changes. Esmail revealed that the episodes to come will be a kind of "reboot" for the series. He said, "Halt and Catch Fire" just rebooted very successfully — we were talking in the writers room about how this season is in many ways kind of a reboot, but that it's also very much a continuation of what happened in Season 1 and kind of the reactions, consequences and repercussions of what happened."

However, it was evident that not even the cast knows exactly what is going to happen in the season to come. During the New York Comic-Con, Carly Chaikin, who plays the role of Darlene, was asked if she knew anything about the episodes to come. She replied that she does not know much.

With that, Portia Doubleday, who plays the role of Angela, explained that she and the other cast members have been asking Esmail about the second season. She said, "Sam gets scared to be in close quarters with us ... During the car ride to the panel discussion, I kept on trying to predict what would happen."

The season is not expected to start production until March 2016, which means that there is a chance that the season will premiere by the end of 2016.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to return sometime next year.
