'Overwatch's' New Trailer Puts Widowmaker in the Spotlight

Making good on its promise, Blizzard Entertainment has released the second animated short for its upcoming team-based multiplayer shooter, "Overwatch." The latest video focuses on the deadly French assassin, Widowmaker.

Blizzard shared the new short (video below) on Sunday. In it, Widowmaker can be seen using her grappling hook to traverse the buildings in London's King's row in search of a great vantage point in her attempt to assassinate Zenyatta, another playable hero in "Overwatch." Zenyatta is a machine or robot and apparently a spiritual leader too who can be seen pushing for harmony between his kind and humans.

In addition to Widowmaker and Zenyatta, Tracer also makes an appearance in the animated short. The time-manipulating British heroine was at the center of a recent controversy after Blizzard removed her over the shoulder pose. The removal follows the complaint of a fan who stated that the pose was out of character. Blizzard's actions was seen as giving to fan whim but the company said it was the right thing to do and clarified that the team initially had doubts about including the pose.

The game will have its open beta from May 5 to 9. It will officially release on May 24. "Overwatch" will be available for PC, Sony's PlayStation 4, and Microsoft's Xbox One.
