'Street Fighter V' DLC: New Character Alex Arrives in March

Even before the launch of its upcoming fighting title "Street Fighter V," Capcom has already announced the release date of the game's first DLC. The company has revealed recently that new character Alex will be available next month.

"We can confirm that Alex will be the first DLC character and he will be available in March!" Capcom tweeted through the "Street Fighter" Twitter page on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Capcom didn't say when exactly in March Alex will arrive, so fans will have to stay tuned to future announcements. When he does arrive, "Street Fighter V" players will be able to buy him using the in-game currency Fight Money. The virtual currency can be earned by playing in matches. Alternatively, players can also purchase Alex using real cash. However, Capcom has not revealed yet how much Alex will cost in Fight Money or cash.

Alex, whom fans first met in "Street Fighter 3," is one of the six characters that will be available as DLC. Capcom has said previously that these characters will be added to the game throughout the year. Guile, Ibuki, Juri, Balrog, and Urien are the other fighters who will be available as a DLC in the future.

In addition to these DLC characters, Capcom has also stated that "Street Fighter V" will have a free story mode. The new mode will arrive in the summer.

Capcom is currently doing a character introduction video series as part of its promotional campaign for the game. Each video showcases one character, including a bit of their background and skill set. The video series started with Ken Masters, followed by Zangief, Necalli, Nash, F.A.N.G., and Karin. Fans can expect more videos to come for the rest of the game's fighters.

"Street Fighter V's" release date is nearly at hand. The game launches on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
