UFC Fight News: Michael Bisping and Gegard Mousasi to Meet in London Fight Card

The Ultimate Fighting Championship kicks off 2016 with a return to London for a bunch of high-quality fights. Dubbed as "Fight Night 83," this card is scheduled on Feb.27 at the O2 Arena in London, featuring the return of veteran mixed martial arts campaigner Michael Bisping.

The fight promotion announced that Bisping (27-7) will be going up against Gerard Mousasi (37-6-2) in a middleweight division showdown. This is the latest addition to the fight card that already has an interesting lineup composed of a 145-pound battle between Mike Wilkinson and Makwan Amirkhani and a lightweight encounter between Rustam Khalibov and Norman Parke.

Bisping is returning to The Octagon after pulling out in a scheduled bout with Robert Whittaker in UFC 193 due to an injury. Although he hasn't been that active, the popular mixed martial artist actually is on a streak, winning over Thales Leites and C.B. Dollaway prior to this bout.

Mousasi for this part is hoping to get back on track after suffering a knockout loss against Uriah Hall in a fight held in Japan. However, he's no pushover since he owns victories against high-profile opponents Costas Philippou and Dan Henderson, in which he knocked out the latter in roughly a minute in their bout.

But a potential show stealer for the London card is Amirkhani, who is still undefeated in The Octagon after stopping Angy Ogle and Masio Fullen in a pair of impressive victories this year. He will be up against a local fighter in Wilkinson, who also has notable wins against quality oppositions like Brendan Loughnane and Niklas Backstrom.

The last fight to be officially announced as of this posting is between the 17-3 Khalibov against Parke (21-4-1). Parke has a decent 4-2-1 UFC record, while Khalibov wants to figure out if he still has something left in the tank after back-to-back losses to Adriano Martins and Ben Henderson.
