A man who lived for 20 years as a transsexual prostitute and drag performer shared how God restored his identity as a man.

Testifying Saturday before those gathered for the Freedom March in Orlando, Kevin Whitt was the last to share his story from the stage following hours of dynamic worship and testimonies of men and women who formerly lived and identified as LGBT.

Whitt recounted that he received Christ five and a half years ago but previously lived for 20 among the LGBT community. He started doing drag at age 16 and performing it at age 18; out of that life he began living as a woman named Dominique.

Whitt now shares his story with legislators across the country and is now the outreach coordinator for Coming Out Inc., a ministry based in Dallas, Texas. He is in the process of writing a book called God Saved The Queen which is set to be released in January.

Two-time Grammy Award-winning Christian singer Lauren Daigle will venture out on her first headline world tour.

“This year has been life changing,” Daigle told The Christian Post. “There’s no better feeling than to be able to look out from the stage and see how people have connected with the songs on this album.”

Daigle had massive success in both the Christian and mainstream markets with her album, Look Up Child.

“Lauren Daigle World Tour,” will travel to forty-four cities starting January 18th in Melbourne, Australia. The tour then heads to the U.S. in February and includes stops in New York, Nashville, Houston, Boston, and Dallas, as well as the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal.

Honduran youth pastor wins asylum case to enter US

Douglas Oviedo, a youth pastor from Honduras who traveled with the migrant caravan last year, has won an asylum case after spending over seven months in Mexico awaiting entry into the United States.

Oviedo won his case on Monday after his attorney successfully argued that the pastor had shown himself to have “lived a life of community work that spanned his time in Honduras” and Mexico.

This included working with at-risk youth in Honduras and helping to build a shelter for other migrants in Tijuana while waiting for his case to be processed.

Oviedo was granted asylum in part to flee from threats of violence from gangs in Honduras, who targeted him in response to his work among the youth of the Central American nation.

Pension crisis could be looming for at least a million retirees of religious organizations

For Catholic-affiliated organizations alone, about 1 million pensioners are now estimated to be at risk of having reduced or zero pension benefits due to a federal law that exempts religious organizations from providing regulated and guaranteed pensions.

Dara Smith, senior attorney for the AARP Foundation, which advocates for older Americans, told The New York Times “that one million figure’s estimated to just be Catholic-affiliated organizations.” The number of pensioners affected at other church-affiliated organizations is unknown.

Nearly 60 percent of pastors do not receive retirement or healthcare benefits from their churches.

Suspended Episcopal priest arrested, charged with child porn possession

The Rev. Gregory Lisby, a Massachusetts Episcopal priest who was suspended by his diocese and was working as a kindergarten teacher at Morgan School in Holyoke was arrested last Thursday by the FBI and charged with possession of child pornography. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Lisby possessed approximately 180 images and 15 videos that likely depicted child pornography.

Last Wednesday, authorities secured a court warrant to search Lisby’s home, which he shared with his husband, the Reverend Timothy Burger of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Worcester, and their two daughters.

The Right Reverend Douglas J. Fisher, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, explained in an official letter last Friday that Lisby had been suspended last year for having “an inappropriate relationship with an adult that did not involve sexual contact.”

“Nothing I discovered during the disciplinary process gave me any reason to believe he was a danger to children,” wrote Bishop Fisher.

“We take the safety of children very seriously in the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. When trust has been violated, God’s people and God’s mission suffer.”
