2. Trump recommended Nordone finish her brother’s term

Prior to South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster announcing on Monday that Darline Graham Nordone would serve the remainder of her late brother’s Senate term, President Donald Trump said on social media that the governor should pick Graham’s sister.

Others who were thought to be in contention included U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., the senior leader of the state's congressional delegation.

“I recommended to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham’s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina," Trump wrote in a Monday post on Truth Social. "This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!”
