'We will miss you down here': Christian artists react to Dolly Parton's death at 80

6. Anne Wilson

Christian country singer Anne Wilson offered an extensive tribute to Parton, crediting her with opening doors for generations of female artists.

“There will never be another Dolly,” Wilson wrote. “I’ve loved her for as long as I can remember. I grew up listening to her music, and her songs have been part of the soundtrack of my life for so many years.”

Wilson said Parton “paved the way for generations of women in country music,” demonstrating that women could “be strong and feminine, dream bigger than anyone thought possible, and never lose sight of who you are or where you came from.”

“So many women have been able to chase their dreams because Dolly went first,” she added. “Thank you for forever impacting country music. I will always be inspired by you. You forever changed the world. Rest easy.”
