Danica New Look 2014: Patrick's Color Scheme Revealed
Danica Patrick's GoDaddy Chevrolet racing car underwent a slight change ahead of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
The record-breaking racecar driver's green no. 10 car was revamped with a new color scheme, as revealed by GoDaddy via Facebook on Saturday.
Immediately apparent is the removal of the rookie stripe on the car, which was replaced by an orange stripe down the center, according to Facebook.
"And here is it, Danica's 2014 #10 ride," the post by GoDaddy read on Facebook. "Only the most dedicated Danica Patrick fan will know if this is the first car with an orange stripe like that. Only share if you like it. #ItsGoTime #GoDaddyRacing."
Patrick is not just gaining a new paint scheme from GoDaddy for the 2014 racing season. The 31-year-old auto racer will also use a car with Aspen Dental colors- blue and white, for two races in Las Vegas and Atlanta next year. The paint scheme for Dental Aspen was released back in October.
Meanwhile, the ground-breaking female racer is coming off of her hosting duties as Tuesday's American Country Awards alongside co-host Trace Adkins.
During the awards show, Patrick, who measures only 5'2" in height, wore a costume imitating her co-host Adkins, while towering Adkins reciprocated by donning a GoDaddy bright green racing suit. Their hilarious act drew many laughs as the awards ceremony honored today's best in country music.
At a different awards show earlier this month, Patrick was the brunt of host Jay Mohr's jokes during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards, and she was not very happy about it.
The night marked Mohr's second run as a host of the event, and the comedian/actor opened the night with a jab directed at Patrick.
"Danica Patrick, give a round of applause for a history maker, Danica Patrick is here," Mohr began in his opening monologue. "Welcome my love. Danica, I hope you're not too uncomfortable tonight, I know you're not used to be this close to the front."
Instantaneously, the crowd gasped at Mohr's joke while the camera panned to Patrick's smirk, which clearly displayed her annoyance. Beside her was the race car driver's boyfriend, fellow NASCAR competitor Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who was also displeased with Mohr's humor, it seemed.
Mohr's joke touched on Patrick's past few races in which she has placed among the last finishers. While Patrick became the first female driver in history to lead the green flag lap at the Daytona 500 in February, she has finished in 38th place, 33rd place, 28th and 20th places this year.
Nevertheless, Patrick later took to Twitter with a lighthearted attitude about the joke.
"@Jaymohr37 @ACAINSIDER thank u! And I thought u were really good the other night, all the jokes," she posted to Twitter. "Seriously! Thanks for entertaining us!"
