Disgusted Public Urges Anthony Weiner's Wife, Huma Abedin, to Dump Him

Huma Abedin, wife of serial sexter and New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, is being urged by the public to dump him, but the good wife defended her husband as a "smart, caring, and dedicated person" in Harper's Bazaar on Wednesday.

"Three years ago I was a single workaholic, traveling the globe with an amazing job at the U.S. State Department. I could not have imagined how much my life would change in three short years," wrote Abedin, an adviser to former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in a heartfelt article in Harper's Bazaar.

"Today I'm married, with a feisty 20-month-old son, a full-time job, and a husband running for mayor of New York," she noted of her embattled husband.

Abedin, who confesses that she is a very private individual, said she surpised herself when she was forced to deal with their private problems on a very public New York City political stage.

"All that changed two years ago, and Anthony and I have spent these past few years working through the very private challenges we faced on a very public stage. So when people tell me they're surprised to see me out on the campaign trail, I understand because, trust me, no one is more surprised than I am," she wrote.

She then explains that she is supporting her husband because he is a better man today and she knows in her heart that she made the right choice.

"So why am I doing this? Because Anthony has always been a smart, caring, and dedicated person, and while he's the same public servant who wants what's best for the people he represents, he is now something else—a better man," she noted.

"New Yorkers will have to decide for themselves whether or not to give him a second chance. I had to make that same decision for myself, for my son, for our family. And I know in my heart that I made the right one," she added.

But a number of people upset by the revelation of a fresh batch of lewd sexting he carried on with an unidentified woman well into August 2012 do not agree with her stance and they were very public with their feelings on a facebook page bearing her name and photos.

"PLEASE don't follow in Hillary's footsteps ... standing by your man when he is SO UNACCEPTABLY disrespectful to you and your marriage. It is NOT a private matter - how you resolve it is private, but his HORRIBLE decision making will be used by the public to determine if he is suitable to be mayor of NYC (no way)," wrote Richelle Lyons Burnett.

"You Democrats keep harping about a war on women, but it seems to me, that Democratic men keep humiliating you in public, and you little doormats keep putting up with it!..They don't show you respect, and they degrade you, yet you stand there beside them, trying to make excuses for them...your husband is a nutcase lady, and if you have any pride, you should dump his sorry butt!!" wrote Pat Everetts.

"What is the matter with you? Why are you still with him? He is so disrespectful to you, how could you stay with someone as disgusting as he is?" asked Susan Presley.

Another commenter Sonia Geiss wrote: "Ms. Abedin you are a smart woman who could be a role model for young girls, instead you let yourself be humiliated and degraded by a slimy, disgusting individual. A lot of people are losing respect for you."

"I genuinely feel bad for you. You were duped by a vile, narcissistic, lying creep. A cheetah does not change its and your son would be much better off leaving NOW. You deserve so much better and you will have the support and respect of the world," noted Eli Chalfin.

Not everyone called on Abedin to leave her husband. Facebook commenter Pamela Moreland said: "I adore the faithfulness [of] his wife Huma Abedin! ...she is dedicated to their marriage."
