'Dying Light' Free DLC Brings New Quest, New Weapon And Two New Challenges

Techland, the developer and publisher of zombie game "Dying Light" is making good with its promise to provide free new content after it asked its loyal players to participate in a special "Drink for DLC" campaign. According to a report in Tech Times, new content is coming that includes a new quest, a new weapon and two new parkour challenges.

Earlier this year, Techland asked its loyal players to post photos or videos of themselves on social media drinking water to participate in the campaign and get new free content. Over 15,000 posts were shared online. According to the report, this campaign originated from a joke by Techland, poking fun at a recent campaign by another game "Destiny," who asked their loyal fans to drink an energy drink in order to get a new quest.

After the campaign's success, Techland has indeed developed new content which it recently detailed. Because the campaign centered on water, the new content also has a connection to water in one way or another. According to the report, the new content consists of three parts, the first of which is an exploration quest situated in Old Town and called "The Fountain of Youth." The second part is Water 2.0, a blueprint for a new weapon that delivers electrocution. The third and last part consists of two new parkour challenges that are said to be "designed around water."

In order to get the new content, players who bought the expansion pack "The Following" for the game will receive the content with the expansion pack download. For players who will opt not to expand however, they will still be able to get the new content through an automatic download when they log onto the game.

"Dying Light" was released earlier this year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The expansion pack "The Following" will arrive in early 2016, along with the free content for the "Drink for DLC" campaign.
