Hardin-Simmons University Business School Affiliate Earns Top Marks in Princeton Review 2006 Edition
Hardin-Simmons University’s Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program was recently rated among the best in the nation in the 2006 edition of The Princeton Review.
Hardin-Simmons University’s Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program was recently rated among the best in the nation in the 2006 edition of The Princeton Review. The program ranked 1st as “Most Competitive” in the country, and 3rd in the “Best Professors” category by the prestigious New York education services company.
HSU President Dr. Craig Turner counts this recognition as an affirmation.
“We are pleased that our Austin business school received such high praise in only its third year of existence,” Turner said in a statement released by HSU late last month. “This validates our vision that Acton’s unique approach to an MBA can prepare our future business leaders in such a successful manner.”
According to HSU, the innovative business entrepreneurship program is “aggressive and cutting edge.”
“Acton is a one-year program, created by successful entrepreneurs and taught by successful entrepreneurs,” said Master Teacher Jeff Sandefer, according to HSU. “Our students deserve the ‘Most Competitive’ ranking because they consider a 90-hour work week routine. Acton is like a Navy Seal boot camp for the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
Immersed in real-world scenarios, students may find themselves selling products door-to-door, or designing a production line that can respond effectively to abrupt changes in supply and demand. Much like the hit television reality show The Apprentice, students are divided into teams to design, produce, and sell a product or solution. Students even visit the “Board Room” to defend decisions and learn from mistakes.
When asked if the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship works, HSU noted that about 70 percent of students of the class of 2004 had a job within three months of graduation with an average salary between $70,000 and $80,000.
