Metal Gear Online Release Date: Revealed at Video Game Awards 2014 on December 5

The next edition of Metal Gear Online is to be revealed by Hideo Kojima at a games event in December. Not much is known about the alleged multiplayer game on whether is it a standalone game or packaged along with "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain," but Kojima is expected to reveal the details of the project at The Video Game Awards 2014.

A games broadcaster, Geoff Keighley, revealed on Twitter about Kojima's provision of the game's "world premiere." Again, not much is known about the reveal, whether it would be a demo or a trailer but usually, games award shows opt to go for the trailers.

Keighley, who produces the game show, wrote on his Twitter, "Nexy Friday night I'm honored @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN will join us at @thegameawards to world premiere Metal Gear Online."

The first Metal Gear Online was released in 2008 which was bundled with the Playstation 3 exclusive title "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This could hint that the second iteration of Metal Gear Online will come bundled with "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain."

Over a million players registered for the first Metal Gear Online but by 2012, Konami had decided to shut down its servers. "The Phantom Pain" is expected to be released by 2015 where a prologue, "Ground Zeroes" was released this year.

The Video Game Awards 2014 will be on Friday Dec. 5 and will take place in Las Vegas.
