Jeremy Lin Gets 'Specific Mention' from Michael Jordan Before Sign-In

Jeremy Lin's skills are definitely not going unnoticed. Despite his underwhelming performance with the Los Angeles Lakers in the last season, NBA legend Michael Jordan still believes that Jeremy Lin will be a crucial addition to his team, The Charlotte Hornets.

Of all the trades and new player sign-ins, one of the player decisions that Jordan himself had made was to have Jeremy Lin join the Hornets. According to an interview by Xinhuanet with the basketball superstar, the addition of Lin was "a successful deal." He shared, "We just got Jeremy Lin, who I think is going to be our biggest acquisition. His penetration, his shooting capability, his point guard savvy, he can really pass the basketball, his energy about the game of basketball something," Many fans feel that despite having weak spots in his outside shots and defensive abilities, the rookie players is still able to perform well. Perhaps Jordan can foresee how his team can hone Lin's further potential to maximize it.

Furthermore, Lin's growing popularity is hard to miss. His appeal is not restricted to basketball fans alone as his growing followers also include anyone who might into social media. Having him on the Hornets will definitely give the team a significant boost from the support of his huge fan base. However, despite it generally being a good thing for the team, it has actually brought more anxiety for the 27-year-old Harvard graduate.

In a recent one-on-one with the Charlotte Observer, Lin admits that things can get crazy, especially in China, which is why every time he is there, he sees to it that security is upped more than usual. Lin shares, "It can be scary, too. When people somehow know what room I'm in, what floor I'm on. Fans aren't supposed to get up that elevator, but somehow they do. And then they're waiting for me and all I can say is, 'You know you are not supposed to be up here?"

It's no surprise since after Yao Ming had retired, more than 300 million fans in China have been yearning for an NBA star to look up to, and in came Lin. Lin says that the added security is for his own peace of mind, as he states, "If I am in China I always have a personal body guard, and if I'm making an appearance I'll always have a team of security. The body guard is legit; he's always there to stay by my door to hear every knock. Then I can be comfortable and feel safe."
