Lego to Release Beloved Disney Character Minifigures in May

May is a huge month for both Disney and Lego as the world-famous toy company is set to launch Minifigures that feature characters from Walt Disney's long list of beloved protagonists.

According to Disney Springs Marketing Manager Darcy Clark, 18 new Minifigures will be launched at numerous retail stores including World of Disney and The LEGO Store. The figures are suitable as presents not only for children but for adults who have once experienced the imaginative and creative world of Lego-building.

At $3.99 per figure, consumers can already collect various characters including Peter Pan, Ariel, Stitch, and Genie. The set features characters from "Alice in Wonderland," "Toy Story," and "The Little Mermaid." As expected, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are also part of the collectible pack.

According to Fortune Magazine, the element of surprise has been adapted by both Disney and the famous toy manufacturer as the toys are secretly packaged. This means buyers won't be able to guess which character they will get when they purchase one box.

For more than 60 years, the companies have worked together in producing toys that are hot among fans of both Legos and Disney characters whether villains or heroes. Among the lines created by the collaboration are "Star Wars" packs and some superheroes from the Marvel universe.

While the suggested retail price is at $3.99, some believe that other stores will put a higher tag on the figures. It is unclear which other stores will display the toys but some expect a few cents to a dollar up on pricing.

The Lego Group was founded in August 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen and for the past decades, the manufacturer has become one of the world's largest and most iconic names in the history of playtime.

Aside from producing playthings for children and adults alike, the company has also built amusement parks around the world called "Legoland." Dubai, Nagoya, the Americas, Malaysia, and Germany, are among the regions that boast of their own theme parks.
