Moto G Specs Revealed, Device to Run Android 4.4 KitKat?

The Moto G specifications were revealed earlier this week by @evleaks, a site notorious for accurate tech information.

The new handset will feature a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro, a 720p 4.7-inch display, an 8-megapixel display, 8 or 16GB of internal memory, and a 1950 mAh battery. The device is also said to be free with a contract.

@evleaks received the information "via a tip" which means that it should all be taken with a grain of salt. The leak did not reveal the amount of RAM the handset would come with.

Android 4.4 was created to run on devices with low amounts of RAM so this handset coming with the software out of the box is not that far-fetched of an idea.

A link for the "Moto G" smartphone made an appearance on Motorola's website earlier this week.

The site was updated yesterday to include a button labeled Moto G. Clicking the link would bring the user to a non-existent webpage labeled www.moto-g.com.

Motorola removed the link shortly after it surfaced. This basically points to the company releasing this device that is rumored to be a low-cost version of the Moto X.

The Moto G surfaced in previous rumors as another device called the Moto DVX.

A leaked presentation slide from Republic Wireless revealed that the handset will be released in North America sometime this month. Judging from information in the new report, it will not be made in the U.S., making it cheaper for Motorola to manufacture. It probably will cost significantly lower than the flagship Moto X off contract and will ditch the dual-SIM feature here as well.

The Moto G is expected to retail for around $195 without an agreement.
